Promotion Can Be Such Agony

What do you do when your favorite local theatre approaches you to help promote an almost unknown Greek tragedy on short notice and shoestring budget? You embrace the suffering.

When Gamut Theatre decided to produce the wonderful, but extremely obscure, Greek tragedy “Iphangenia at Aulis,” they were understandably somewhat nervous about filling seats. Knowing that misery loves company, we helped orchestrate a grassroots campaign using low-cost campaign signage and attention-grabbing headlines.

The result? Pure joy—the show was completely sold out before the first showing.
